  6. Paul, You know I love the Olds stuff. I AM TOTALLY DIGGING THE BLOWN 371 MOTOR! It looks real good. I gotta feeling that you are gonna finish this one first. I wish I could come over and see it like I used to. Keep going. I just chopped my 34. Finishing up in the next couple days and I will post. Cheers Dale

I can't wait to put my 6x2 setup to the test on my coupe!! This is good insperation to me Paul! Haven't worked on my A in awhile.. kinda got to a stoping point and burned out then bought a 66 nova and been building a full tube chassis for it.. Yeah.. i know quite a change from what we do on here! lol. But looking at this today has me thinking and motivated! Very nice stance and one good looking hotrod my man! KEEP GOING!!!

spent a couple hours trying to make something ok out of crap..

I had a left over '32 dash from a previous project
it was hacked, patched, brazed and bondo'd
I warmed it with a torch and scraped the worst of the filler off,
stripped most of the crap off with paint remover and grinder

chopped the top off it and the bottom off the stock A dash rail
    and tacked them together

cut out the poorly done patches
    filled them with new steel
and hacked a big hole in the middle

got most of the welding done and ground
still need to spend some more time working it smooth
but here it is screwed in place for a trial fit
with one of alchemy's dash panels hanging on it

    thanks Paul!
    thanks Terry!

ironed out a few wrinkles, drilled and tapped the panel and bolted it to the dash
this is as finished as the dash is going to get for the moment
it's just about ready for some filler and primer but it'll stay naked till then.
the aluminum panel will probably get polished
and I will need to round up some gauges to compliment the package

  16. It came out real nice Paul. Great job. Gets me motivated to start chopping my 50 dash apart for the A.

been busy working on everything but this car
so yesterday I took a few minutes to pay at least a little attention to it

and ventilated my Alchemy '32 Pierce Arrow dash to accept a few gauges I had laying around

Thank You, I'm digging the blend of styles it adds to the project, I went with the similar to stock gauge placement with '60s era Stewart Warners and used the 2-5/8" gauges on the ends, it'll get a Superior wheel on the Chevy van column. [IMG]

heyitsnate was kind enough to lend me some very cool old headers from some long ago hopped up Olds motor,
I think they are just the style this car needs
so I'm going to try to recreate them here

I bought some nice heavy flanges from GOATROPER02 a while back and fabbed up and welded on some starter tubes

started chopping up some 2" 14 gauge tube I bought locally
couldn't find any 4" 14 gauge plain steel tube for collectors to match the originals
so I'll use a couple Olds oil filter canisters for collectors

finished welding the first set of tubes and blended them nicely
