Unilite mods

I have been told that you can switch a V8 unilite to 6 cylinder by changing the shutter wheel/button and cap. Has anyone done this?

Yah I know the body is different too, but I need to cut one down anyways because they dont make one for my application.

The point is that I can get a cheap used V8 disty from a friend. It would save me money to be able to change it to 6 cylinder by doing the cap-rotor/shutter swap. The rest is just cut-off and lathe work.

Sounds feasable. Best guy to ask is GMC Bubba......he may even have a better idea......he's a guru ya know!
