I'm noticing those notches in the brake shoes, is there a distinct advantage to these notches? I'm building a '30 coupe and will be flipping to hydraulic brakes.....is this something I should consider doing?

Yes- a grooved brake shoe performs better than the ungrooved shoe this has been backed up by research.

X2 Tuck in regards to the roadster, leave the front end as it is with some improvements as you see fit. The quad shell should work out extremely well with the STAR DESTROYER and some needed modifications. Possibly cut back the frame horns to where you may decide to run some chrome nerf bars just past the shell as an idea??
