O.k., so if you won't tell us what the body is, maybe you'll explain exactly how does a couple "enjoy some tequila and the engine hoist"?

  6. I'm going to copy this style spring mount.
It's on a really cool, really narrow old axle I have here.
It's just fun to look at!!!

  7. If you ever thought building things square and flat was difficult ...
Trying to get spring perches square and true on this curvy thing will let you know just how easy square and flat is.

  11. Near 60 and sunny today and pull a part was packed.

Got my explorer 8.8 3.27 rear end, LSD carrier from a 3.73 and an extra short side axle shaft. Some near new rotors and really nice calipers too. 3 different exploders of course.

    Lets see how this goes.

No, but I'm guessing that it won't remain square? At least two brackets have yet to be cut out from it?

Something to weld to your front axle maybe.....shock mounts or some such?

  15. Got the 8.8 rear all stripped down, brackets removed and ready for surgery tomorrow.
Taking 3" out of the long tube to accept a short side axle it's 59.5 now . 56-1/2 WMS will be the finished dimension.

  16. Batwings for hairpins
The 2.75 hole saw was so damn loud. Plugs, muffs & my ears are still ringing.
7/8 and 2.25 holes were so easy and quiet.

  18. Oh yes , lots of it & drill press on slowest rpm belt arrangement.
I think the tooth speed at 1.38 radius was just too fast.

  23. The thing is damn heavy !
A monster compared to s-10 (gm) 7.x ring gear rear end.
I do not understand the drastic neck down and small axle bearings though.

I saw that car on ebay. Looks like it had equal amounts of good stuff and goofy stuff. Glad to see it heading in the right direction.
