Hi guys ......hoping someone can help with a query on my 57 Chev

My car doesn't appear to have these brackets ....or even the holes for mounting them to the fins , are the brackets necessary to hold the vertical stainless in place ? IMG_4189 (Medium).JPG

Also ....I can't ID this rubber grommet ....any help greatly appreciated IMG_4188.JPG

  2. Yes, the brackets hold the vertical stainless on.
If your quarter panel is new, it must need to be drilled. 1530700551464-1362936145.jpg here, the pointer shows where the clip made a rub mark on the stainless. The bottom of the piece is retained by two more screws, still holding a broken tab here. This piece is ruined. note how someone bent it so far the spot weld on top pulled through. 1530701039285772010013.jpg finally is the fin top clip, short 150/210 shown. Pins locate in clips rusted beyond belief here 15307011862032113796221.jpg 15307007812461032886114.jpg

  3. Engineer change. My understanding is the clip was added later production. Repop are available. Just added one to a 150 I'm working on.

Just guessing on the grommet but it looks like something on the firewall. Your picture has no size reference.
