So I've been searching for an adapter to bolt a y-block to a 37 ford tranny, does anyone know if they exist???
I picked one up at the k-zoo swap meet a while back. They are out there, but don't seem to be as common as some of the other adaptors.
Not a bunch of them on Ebay but here's one. looks like 130.00 shipped to the door. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ford...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
Yes, if all else fails, try Pat at Wilcap. He is very knowedgeable and helpful. http://www.wilcap.com/
The Y-block was an awfully big engine (size/weight not power/displacement) and difficult to put into an early Ford so the adapters are scarce but available. Does this give you a message? Charlie Stephens
What about truck bellhousings?? when did they go away from the '39 bolt patten? i think they ran them up till Atleast 52 but beyond there i get lost
The Nov. 2000 issue of Rod and Custom did a great article titled "110 engine and trans swaps made easy " It lists engines , transmissions , what do you get , what else do you need , part # and who sells it . Unfortunately the only one that they list for a Y-block is a C4 adapter . But , hopefully this article will help others .
Have got one here in NZ made by US manufacturer McBarr for my model A. Also in NZ there are some local made ones by Berry & Chung floating about.
