I always wanted a big garage with Skylights and a small apartment , so when I retired , my family and I Built it .
Well it's only one car,a bit small, but has seen a lot of cars ,built an rebuilt from 1965 to now in this one. I actully started in my Dad's back yard in later 1950s ,an now an then I got to use the carport for a day or two ! I had a speed shop I ran, that was 4 bays, but that was customer only cars,my own stuff had to be at home.
I think your missing the point, YOU HAVE A GARAGE. Stop worrying about it, soon enough you'll have it full of Misc. shit, over spray, and grinding dust. IT takes time to get cool, let it happen and enjoy the ride getting there. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Tim
No projects in the garage. Currently the garage is the project. Been working on my shop for a year and a half now. It's an old volunteer fire dept. I've still got a long way to go but super excited about having a large shop. Picture from a year ago. I had already gutted half of the building and started reframing parts of it. My father and I have done 100% of the work so it's slow going but we have a lot of this area finished. Rewired all of it. Plumbed for compressed air. New windows and doors. All the interior panels are done in exterior siding and r panel. Has two loft areas with room between for a lift in the future. I've still got a ton of work left but it's getting there. For the past few years I've been using my 13'x20' garage at my house. I think it's traditional the house is from the 50s!
This is a great thought. I'm not opposed to all the collectables and decor. I actually would love to have it all!! However I'm just an average blue collar working guy. Everything I do is out of pocket. Never borrowed. I've had a number of great authentic traditional parts and cars pass through my hands. I would have liked to have been able have kept them all, but they had to be sold or traded to move up to the next thing. I've never sold any tools. It's really worked out great for me. Now I've sold everything extra to put the $ in the building. Even had my 32 for sale to speed up the process. Decided to keep the car and keep chugging along. Now I don't have anything left to hang on the walls or decorate my shop once it's finished but for me I'm stoked to have a empty shop and still currently have my coupe to park in it at the finish. Believe me as I sold some rare parts people said " you'll regret selling that!" or " you will never find another one of those!" I knew I had to to get to the next step.
Kool Kat-57 had some great thots and you have an awesome new garage done the old fashioned way... you earned it! I think the best decoration you cud hang on the wall of the new garage is that red, white, and blue rectangle that was on the wall of your old garage!
Ok I updated it a bit based on this post. It’s gonna take some time. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
kinda has an older feel to it vs my previous garage. Sent from my SM-G900V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
