Post up pictures of your soft Tonneau Covers. What I have in mind are the upholstered covers that may have been accented with some rolled and pleated stripes, diamond shapes, dice, shamrocks, etc., traditional designs used on custom p/u's from the fifties.
My F100's got a nice black tarp ('tonneau') with nothing on it. That is, it did have nothing on it...) Until I packed in my new Galaxie front bumper, then snapped my tarp down...Parked the truck in front of a friend's house, under a tree. Came out to get in, and NOOO! The blasted bumper had cut (worn? Hell, the tarp was 2 weeks old!) a gash 5" long, right in the center of the tonneau...about 30" from the back, dead center! My upholstery friend cut out an 'arrow', 3" wide stem with the arrow head 5" wide, going to a point toward the front. My bud asked, "Why an arrow?" I said, "It's what the Greek woulda done...or Teardrops...No, the arrow."
