the more i look at the picture of the car, with the '70's starsky and hutch looking, stripe removed, the more i agree with your "yawn". it looks better without it, but it needs something, maybe the same treatment using S.S. trim? or the painted striped edged in S.S.?

Mike mentioned that they are likely snap on discs that don't fit well at the best of times...Looking at the rest of the truck it seems at least inspired. If the roads there are anything like they are this way I can understand why they are out of position. I don't think whats under there would be off topic. Could be photoshopped. I tried to make a fix for 33 but lost the file.
