I started this project in 2004. After 5 years of fabricating, getting married, living abroad, graduating, selling and buying a house, moving 5 times and having a child, its time to move on. We will have another kid very soon and the decision was made. Today I traded my Model A on a '53 Chevy. Its chopped and dropped, running car w. 350/350 combo. And it has a backseat. :)

Hope you get to do as much moving in the 53 as you have in the moving van!

  7. An even better trade is when both parties are equally excited as you seem to be. And the family can get more involved in the hobby at this point.. Nice chebby by the way

These decisions always contain a combination of reason and emotion. The little Chev is certainly cool. It looks to me like you will start having more fun, and be able to get out more. I hope it turns out well for you and yours.

The proportions were copied from Mike Ness' 54. I must agree the chop looks good! and the best thing is that all modifications were done well. The chop, engine swap, rear notch w. 4-links, bags, front discs, upholstery etc. Still some work left but alot less than in the Coupe. I appreciate your comments.

You gotta do what you gotta do... congrats on your second hooligan coming!

Say, do you have any additional pics of your coupe build? I've been kicking around some similar ideas and wondered how you went about certain aspects.

    Thanks!
Will post some additional photos of turning a Tudor Sedan as a Coupe. Wouldn't do it again though.

That would have been a tough decision, I like them both. I like customs, but I got to be able to burn rubber when I want too.

WOW! THis is so inspirational! I'm not the only one and you just proved to me that it will work AND look great. I can't wait to see your thread about this.
What did you use for donor rear quarters?

  20. Nice trade! Then again I'm a kustom guy!Looks like you will have fun a lot sooner with the Chevy.Nice car!

Love the custom. I am in the same boat. I love my A Tudor Sedan but I think a custom might fit my life style (re: kids and shit) better. Nice Chebbie!

    Thanks again. :)

The rear donor was an old drag car from early 80's. Think it was Chrysler? The rear section was replaced with fiber in the 80's. I tracked the parts and got a chance to buy them.

I know exactly what you mean. As I grow older and have to deal with arthritis, I'm thinking it may be time to move to a larger and later car. I'd trade my coupe even up (even at a loss) for a nice 50's sedan. Like maybe a 49 or 50 Fleetline.

Very sweet deal my man.As a Kustom guy I know I'm bound to say this, but the world needs more classy cars and that Chevy certainly is one. Please say you are going to give it nice paint, she really deserves it
    congratulations

You did good. If you can't take the whole family for a ride what's the point?

I like both cars but the Chevy is more of a "cool" family car.
