Is this the Buick from Maryville that was on Knoxville Craigslist? That owner also had a rough looking chopped one for sale, but I couldn't tell from the pics how it really looked, or if the chop was screwed up.

Yep same one. That white one was a 53 and was in very bad shape. He said it had bags installed on it. The chop was in bad shape also. Not worth even $1000 I would say.

enjoy! pull the rocker cover and make sure all valves are freed up. pull rocker shaft and pop valves with a plastic hammer to see if they'll move. they have a tendency to stick.

Probably not. I'm into hot rods and all things less than 2,000 lbs.

My brother has a 52 Super HT, neat car. It has been lowered, 455, 400 turbo later rear end. Baby blue and white inside and out. I have been a Buick guy forever, they are just like a sore dick, can't beat 'em! Nice find, get busy!
    P.S. Sexy gas pedal!!

Great car, and a very good price, especially being that solid. Taking the valve cover off is good advice as well, when we got my dad's 52 Roadmaster running, there was quite a bit of gunked up oil on the top end with passages blocked and we ended up bending a few pushrods, which are a crazy design in the big Buick. Cleaning that out ahead of time would have saved us some headaches. Post pics as you work on it, looking forward to updates.

I'm using two Optima 6 volts, hooked in parallel- they fit right in a line in that loooong buick battery holder, and cost only a bit more than the original type

I have heard of puttin hot plates under old engines and manual transmissions on a low heat setting and it loosens up old sludge and makes it easier to flush out with the usual kerosene or diesel , marvel mystery oil witch ever you feel best with....

  15. Nice car! You saved a pile of money not having to do major body work. Makes me miss my 53. I love the wrap around dash in those.

Oh well, can't build them all.
