I talked to my mom about Doc Kleckner - turnes out she went to Arcadia H.S. with him and was best friends with his girlfriend (at the time)

The Chevado was at the Hod Rod magazine & In-N-Out 70th anniversary at Pomona Raceway. I saw Gary but did not get a chance to talk to him.

 

I saw the car, too....cool beans!

 

I’m glad to see this thread is still going! I had a blast with Chevado at the Hot Rod Magazine Show. I managed to get the original four man crew assembled for the first time in 40+ years! That was an especially cool part of the show for me! The car is going to be re-lettered this year (The Good Lord willing), by the same artist that originally did it in 1968!
