this isn't a model A water pump. what is it?

what's the deal with this water pump? is it shorter?

 

Probably '33-'36 Ford (the '32 was about the same with a longer neck). Be sure the fan is well mounted since the original pumps didn't have a fan mounted on them. A couple of close up pictures would help.

I cannot really see what that is, picture is too fuzzy, but there was a shorty pump available...1933-4 bangers had a squashed version of the B pump that went with special frontcover and crank pulley to move everything back 1". That pic doesn't seem to show an open top, so it is likely not one of those.
