not a barn find but was a storage unit find . A lady parked it in a storage unit in 1971 & paid rent for 41 years.

Wow!!! One of my favorite 50's cars. And the hubcaps on the front seat waiting for the day it's on the road again. Very cool!

Paid rent for 41 years? That thing is worth a fortune!

  11. Neat car, my only regret is not finishing the Henry J I had in 84 in High School. PM me, I am interested.

Anyone else notice the (obscure) irony... a Henry J with an Allstate battery?

Worth depends on the shape of the floors and rockers. They go stock from $1500 for beaters to one like yours for about $3500-6500. If it runs and drives the higher. From what I see it's a 6 cyclinder with overdrive no trunk no glove box car. Has a not a kaiser dealer radio and heater. Has the deluxe hub caps. It's an early 51. I have two aa 52 and 53 both stock. One won't be for long and the other will be up to the little one to do his way.

  17. Neat little car. Most Henry Js ive seen were racecars.

  18. Did they not come factory with a big Hemi, straight axle and a moon tank?

    :D

    .

  19. my wife loves those cars, as long as the original chrome is left on.
great find, good luck with it.
did you ever sell that ford?

I can't believe I'm saying this but don't chop it up and make a gasser out of it!!
My first Henry j was bone stock, I bought it from a retired school teacher for 100 bucks and drove it away. That was 1968, so I put big tires
on it cut the muffler off. It would do over a 100 down hill lol.
And it would get great gas mileage not like my blown Hemi powered
one I drive now. There really ugly stock but find a good home for her!!!

I did. You could buy the car from Sears, and the battery too.

I love the "dragon-skin" vinyl upholstery - a Kaiser specialty.

keep it stock, drive it all over town and enjoy it!

  25. It is really too nice for me to try and give you a monitary value on it. All it would be worth to me is rod fodder. I have a drive train already to make a real rod out of it.

I will offer to trade you my '38 for it ig you have paper on it. But I'll tell you up front that you won't be getting a cherry and I will certainly do things to it that would make purest (resotorer?) cringe. :D

That is one that most would deam too nice to make a rod out of, it is a real nice J for damned sure.

Better answer some questions , all the pans are soild , one broken side glass (straight) small wear on driver side seat , the dark green paint is added on,with a few chips, have not turned it over yet, .
All the trim is on it and excellent shape. and last but not least.......its got to go. OH YEAH, CLEAR TITLE TOO.
and yes the FORD is still in my garage. (damn-it)

Too nice to make into a gasser, sell it to someone who will leave it alone.
