We sold Kim's '06 Volvo (I know, I know) this week and I bought this last night, she's laid claim to it already! It's as close to rust free as it gets. Needs front seat, one rear curved window is cracked and the spare well has been cut out. It came with a '68 327/325hp and a turbo 400, 4.11 posi rear. Now if I can just talk her into driving a straight axle car!
Gotta love the ol' wagons,,sure looks better than our wagon when I started. This is a friends 2 door wagon,HRP
Yeah, it's a Handyman. I've got her talked into suede paint, color yet to be determined. She put the kiebash (SP?) on the straight axle. Hell yeah, she's lucky...just ask me! Ha! glad she doesn't get on here!
Sorry- handyman. I'm not well versed in Chevrolets... I am learning though! Anyways- have fun with it- too bad she didn't bite on the straight axle idea... now you're going to have to keep it low! (you have to get the groceries in it somehow!)
Think dark suede blue, white top with heavy flake, wide whites (or pinners) on Radirs (or Astros). Early to mid-sixties dragway pit car all set to pull the trailer with the FED! just my 2 cents. Sweet project for sure!
Awesome. That is a nice wagon. It is in a lot better shape than the Nomad I am working on right now. It is amazing to see what people considered good body work back in the 70's. Not saying that we don't see stuff like that now. The patch panels we are cutting off almost were put on like they didn't want anybody else to be able to fix it correctly. heh.
X2! Silver with heavy flake for the roof would look great, too. A Handyman is better than a Nomad, anyway- LOTS cheaper to buy, and nobody is gonna scream bloody murder if you change a few things around to suit you.
Sweet! Doe your wife know what a strait axle is? I would just put one in and when it's finished she will like it NOMADer what!
Hah, go figure, I get an English lesson from Finland! Thanks! Oh yeah, she knows what a straight axle is! I've taught her too well!
Kibosh/Kybosh "The most likely explanation, however, is that by the Irish poet Padric Colum, who theorised that it comes from the Gaelic "cie bias" meaning "cap of death", the mask worn by the executioner at the block or the black cap ofthe judge when delivering the death sentence. The words are pronounced "ky bosh". Stanley Blenkinsop, Macclesfield
