Well after the traffic on I 35 in Austin I came home happy to get to go to the Round up . Seen a lot of old friends but I noticed getting in and out of my 32 making me pretty sore so I told my bud when we get home I am gonna own me something with wipers fenders and ac well last week I found it a 1954 ford ranch wagon with Granada spindels rack and pinion steering 302 efi and 8.8 IRS . I will be finishing the paint and changing the wheels this week .The guy I bought it from had done polished the stainless put a sedan delivery door on the rear it and had it cut in for paint they put new glass in it when they went to put the windshield in they broke it so he was mad and sold it to me !! it is a nice car it came from northern California no rust ! I will post some pictures soon time for a cushy ride or I just got old !!

You must be getting old Terry LOL At 75 I'm currently building what you are complaining about, that is a 32 5 window with a Nailhead. I have noticed though lots of rodders over 70 are going for the 46 to 48 coupes and convertibles looking for more room and a softer ride. What will you do with the coupe?

They say gettin old ain't for no sissies!!!! I just can't get used to the idea of not driving my 31 chopped coupe.....even if stop lights do try to give me a crick in my neck.....it's just too much fun...But then again, if I lived where it gets hot, I'd have to get something with ac or melt.

Driving the 32 is fun but I put a 5 day work week in 2 days and 600 miles in a 5 " chopped buggy spring suspended 600 lift cammed small block 5 speed is fun but I had to take off 2 days to recover !! I was thinking of a 40 coupe but everyone I found had billet suspension and 350-350 combos well at least my new late model has a ford in a ford !

  7. Yep at 65 im beginning to crave creature comforts. This morning My wife and I went up into Missouri about 40 miles to a auction sale. The items we where interested in where what we hoped. So we didn't stay. We took my 66 GMC long bed. And it was cold wet and rainy. The marginal heater and uncomfortable seat got the best of us. after that 80 mile round trip we where glad to get home. Set in the recliner's and warm up. And too boot the windshield wipers ouit in the up position.

thought that old rides equaled the experience to "forever young" - saw a sign in a store that said: Young at heart but, other parts not so much - Ha! Congrats on new ride - '54 Fords are great looking - a little comfort goes a long way

wow, love 54 Fords. This is a knock out, glad you are changing the wheels, hoping you are going steelies. I am a little older my self and love my Chevy c-10 for comfort. It seems very intimate and almost coupe like (in my mind anyway). You really scored here, enjoy!

X2 on the request to see how the rear is laid in there..

I am guessing that the 4.25 bolt circle has to be thunderbird
