Hot Rods The so-what RPU

Was talking about that thing tonight and was reminded how much I like it. Of all the late 30's/40's fenderless pickup cab/modified/hotrod trucks, that one has to be my favorite. I recall reading an article about it that claimed that they built it on the cheap too. Anyway, post up pics if you've got 'em.

The only one I could find was in Clark's album. Hope he doesn't mind...

Found a few more. The body in the back of the first photo went on to become the 999 car.

 

If I had a choice of getting my RPU back or my 32......I'd take the RPU. It was a great little truck!

Yeh it was built for under $5,000.

Definitely an inspiration for me. Very cool truck.

 

I don't think "Clark's T" ever made into the mud but I could be wrong

 

That is a great looking RPU! Clean amd simple with nice details. His sport coupe is the same. It inspired my art work.

 

The only shot I have of it from the GNRS '09 .

I miss that little truck, I remember Clark letting me and Race Cruise it around the fairgrounds at Columbus one year.
