I vote Black w/ red guts and put the Fentons on it.

  3. This is a good point. Most of the time you see this era of cars they are red, white or black.

  4. I like the black. I think this color would look good also. BTW.. my all time favorite 60's car is the '62 'Bubble Top' Belair.

Confusing a typical hard top with another in those colors would be easy, bubble tops i don't know....They are a bit more rare, and with traditional wheels and bags i think it'll be pretty unique.
Plus, look at that pic up there^^^^^there's a reason so many are black...
    They look GREAT!!!! :D:D

But, i digress......and i'd still paint it black! hahaha

Personally I love the wires, what are they? The Fentons would be a great second choice though, on the black car with red guts, and a redline tire, or the T-Bird red and white line tires. theHIGHLANDER has a good point too though, they had some cool looking earth tone paint colors back then, and it would help differentiate your car from others.

Got my 605 power steering kit last night

This weekend I got quite a bit done, front shocks are mounted, rear swaybar got mocked up, changed my front swaybar links, got the rear shocks bolted in, and I pulled the axles and pig out. Good thing I did, because I found out it has a 4.10 gear which is going to be way too high for my 283/th350 combo. I'm on the hunt for a 3.08 or 3.36 now.

Have to drill some holes in the trailing arms to bolt this fat bar up

New swaybar links, I had to put longer ones cause the bar was resting on the tierods when aired out

    Lookin good!
How is the front shock articulation when it's aired out? I ran into a bind issue on mine which keeps it up about 1.5" from full down, and have to make some changes this winter.
And i have a 3:36 pig if you wanna trade..:)

Looking sweet! I think I'd go red on red OR red gut with the brightest, purest white I could find. A red accent in the spear and a couple of red pinstripe accents and I'd call it done!

Whatever color you decide on, I can't wait to see the finished product!

  20. BREAKS MY HEART!
Your thread breaks my heart! I had a 62 2dr Impalla with factory 3 on the tree! Way back in college. White with red interior. I know now it's one of only two or three cars I wish I still had! So that's a great project ya got...

Beautiful car - I had a '61 bubble-top, white w/red interior back in '65. How are you doing the PCV/draft tube thing on the engine?

  22. I'm keeping an eye on this project. I'm planning a full resto of my 62 SS soon. I gotta ask, who's sway bars are you using?

I think 62s look good in just about any color. I'm partial to white, but the red and black posted earlier look good. But black is a bitch to keep clean.

My baby. White with red, 327, 700R4, 605 box, power disks front. Currently my second time owning the same car.

I'm running an Edelbrock carb with a PCV coming out the back of the carb, with a short line going to the top of the road draft opening in the block

Great project, still a lot of cars out there, hope to see it this spring. Is the 56 wagon out where Bob C. works on his cars?

  28. Red on the head like a dick on a dog. Nothing beats a red 62 Chevy. Wonderful build, that small block is a great looking piece. Be proud.

  29. how low does the car sit with completely airred out? i only ask as my brother is in process of gathering parts to air rider his 62 pontiac. looking for a similar stance to what you have at the moment.

It's resting on the bumpstops, the frame is about 2" from the ground. I think I'm going to cut the bumpstops in half, so the car drops a bit more when aired out but is still mobile if something was to blow or go wrong.
