Ive spent the last two days doing little tweaks and fixing minor things, and most importantly DRIVING IT! It goes really well, the five speed is sublime, so Glad I did the conversion.
It runs cool ,about 150-170 depending on traffic, and its around 70/80 degrees out here, so Im stoked with that.
the only problems to fix now-
-the rear spring has settled too much, I made a one inch spacer yesterday, but still needs a little more, might unreverse the eyes on the main leaf to get another inch or so.
-one wheel has a wobble, which is causing the right rear to wobble pretty bad, cant feel it but can sure see it! Ill get the rim straightened if i can. Wide fives could be hard..
-I need to lower the seat an inch or more, just feels a little high. I used a stock seat riser, so i can cut it down easily enough.
Made rubber mats for the floors and trunk too.
Still have to Wire the headlights and stick a horn somewhere, but its basically ready to register..very excited!heres some shots from around Collingwood today..

    G'day Rancho Deluxe

I love cars and look at cars alot - either in the metal or in pics.

Your car is one of those cars that just stops me in my tracks.

Only a handful of cars have done this to me in life - sure there are some real nice cars out there that get it right and I can appreciate that.......

but this one when I first saw pics of it just left me silent, mouth agape, the kids unable to interupt me.

    Very very funken nice bud

Thanks Turns, what a nice compliment!

I like to think I have an eye for design..

wait till you see it in real life. The hotrodders that have seen it complete have been left clutching for superlatives.

Im looking Forward to its first public outing at Phillip Island this Sunday.

Fixed the photos now, thanks Jimmy!

heres one in B&W to get an idea what it would have looked like in 1948..which is I guess when it was built in my strange tiny mind.:)

After meeting you last year I had know idea that you were building something so damn cool. After giving you a ride in my heap I guess you owe me a trip around the block. I guess I gotta get down under one day soon. Ship it here and we will go to Bonneville. Love it man. As we say here out west. Bitchin' man.

Now that has to be one of the best '32 roadsters I have ever seen!

Spewing i can't make it to the Nats in the end.

    A credit to you Ben!

Are you by any chance gonna make tracks up to Crakk?

    Again, well done!

Your roadster has the '48 vibe. Here is Ray Morisstte's from '48-49

    Man that is AWESOME!!

Can't say I would raise the rear back up though. I think it's fairly perfect the way it is.

That interior is just amazing. I really like the unusual color and pattern.

    Thanks all!
The back has to come up as the driveshaft weights are hitting the floor over bumps with two passengers in it, and it only has an inch of travel..not enough really. I cant lower the rear of my gearbox without building a custom gearbox mount, you can see why swapping out the banjo for a low pinion diff (such as a tank fairlane) became popular later on.
Ray Morisettes car sits a good two inches higher at the back than mine, and I actually prefer his stance, so no concerns for me there,,and I just remembered I have some stock 36 rear springs, so it may be a very easy fix.

Love that blurry antiqued one you found Jimmy! was Google street view around in 1948? I did not know that!

Really great look but one suggestion...simplify the front and remove yellow lights.
    I love most all 32's

    Thanks, but they stay.
Its Hard to express in photos, but they add a lot to the car.
Fogs are something I always envisioned on this car, adds to the touring vibe, this thing was built to do lots of miles...in all weather.

Something else I forgot to mention, Took it to a weighbridge, weighs exactly 1000Kg with 1/2 a tank of fuel in it. which is 2,200lbs i believe. I was expecting it to be heavier, so that was a nice suprise.

I dropped in to see Ben yesterday and took a few more pics. The car still looks as superb as it did the day it was completed.
