Folks Of Interest The passing of a HAMBer way too young...afordmannow...Nick Habrun

It is with deep sadness that I share the death of HAMBer afordmannow, Nick Habrun. Nick was a good friend of mine that had recently joined the HAMB and started building his first hot rod, a chopped 1928 Ford Model A sedan. He had been a long time 4-wheel drive/off road junkie who had crossed over to hot rods. He loved all things mechanical and couldn't wait to get his car on the road.

He really enjoyed spending time looking at other Model A's on the HAMB and talking with other HAMBers about their cars. Vern and Mike's Traditional Hot Rod Build book had become his bible, reading, reading, and re-reading it. And I've never seen a person with more hot rod magazines in my life, I'd go to his house to read!

He was diagnosed just three short weeks ago with leukemia and died of complications this past Thursday. These past few days have been rough, it is hard to deal with a life cut so short, he was only 28. The saddest part of all of this though is the three year old son he leaves behind. He was the best dad to him in the world, his son went everywhere with him.

So the moral of the story is, don't take anything for granted, not a day. I never thought this would happen in a million years.

Megan, i am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
At any age it's hard, but 28 is much much to young.

Sorrry to hear this Megan, we do need to savor every day as our last, this is an example why. I appreciate it more being older than dirt, most of my hotrodding will be done right here on the computer these days. R.I.P. dear brother Nick. ~sololobo~
