Disappointing - if they were going to run it down the strip in front of all those people, the least they could have done was stage it and run 330'

It's not a 50 dollar car. No idea on how it behaves and a poor time to find out by doing something really dumb

    just my opinion.

Kick ass! Big thanks to the owner for not locking this car in his garage but rather bringing it out into the world where the public can see one of the most iconic 32 sedans ever built. I have my fingers crossed he'll bring it on tour so I might get a chance to see it for myself.

With a crowd that close? THAT would have been lame. Relish the fact that it's still out there for folks to see.

Great to see a piece of history actually running and moving instead of sitting in a museum!

That brings back a lot of good memories. I remember seeing it at the Portland Roadster show after it won the Oakland Roadster show. I later saw it at Tindell's lot on Canyon Road.

    Very Cool to see! :)
How many Iconic Historical Cars are ever taken out in public,
let alone Fired up and Driven under their own Power?
My Hats off to the owner/owners.

Mickey Mouse. That's not a run, it's a crawl. The car looks good, though.

OK......OK maybe I should have said - Disappointing (fixed it in my original post)......I'm mean you've got to admit it was anti-climatic......And i guess you'll have to wait another year to see my alky burner make a pass.....but the only history my altered will ever have is whatever I give it. It was not my intention to offend anyone - and I do applaud the owner for preserving a piece of our history for all to see.

Loved to hear and see it under power. I've been a fan for years, but mostly for how it was built and looks. Anyone know what it ran in the day? Gary

Thanks for preserving this important part of our hobby's history!

I'm sure Bob Tindle was smiling down on you that day!

That's pretty damn cool & totally understandable not making a balls-out, banzai pass on such an iconic piece of hot rod history. I'm just glad it see's the light of day again. I remember when the original 1/24 model was released. Man I wanted one in the worst way, never did get one.

I have to tell you, as a boy of 11 or 12 who had built many, many models that damn kit confounded me!
As with most of the Revell kits of that era nothing quite fit right, and there were so many chrome parts that had to have the plating scraped off to be glued properly, it was a nightmare!
The best part of the kit was the box art!

I always liked the AMT kits, koolkat. Good fit, finish, & detail. Monogram, Revell, & MPC could turn into an adventure of patience extraordinaire...
Ahhh.... the smell of fresh styrene & airplane glue in the morning.:D

Raise your hand if you melted your moms plastic table cloth with model glue.

    I built it too.
Revell kits were a little tougher than the others. I just figured they were more advanced. $2.50 for a kit. My room was lined with all kinds of cars and planes.

First time out in 40 years? I'd go that fast/slow too. Thanks for the video!

The sound of that big...Olds or Pontiac, cant remember (too much Tester's model glue) is just killer!

I too built the Revell kit when I was about 12. All those trees of CHROME! Loved it! I didn't like the orange though, so painted it Candy Red. Still have it 40 years later...

I was given a Revell Orange Crate body by a guy leaving the USN Great Lakes BT "A" school the day I got there. Somebody else gave me an AMT '32 Sport Roadster kit - filed the fenders off the 2 door body & used the sidemounts & trunk rack from the roadster ... don't know if it ever got finished as I gave it away when I left.

  29. AMT had the marketing schlock down the best. It was kewl being able to mix match parts from diff kits.

    Oh, and MPC ruled!!!

  30. So epic! It was one thing to just get it running again after who knows how long, but to see it moving under its own power is awesome. Thanks @couverkid for preserving such a big piece of northwest hot rod history just as it was and bringing it out for us to enjoy! Do you have any plans to have it temporarily at the World of Speed in the future?
