I hate to be a hater, but I hate fake patina. I'd rather everybody did ZZ-Top paint job. It's soooo un-HAMB, I can't believe anyone on here even has a picture to submit of a fake patina car. I love the door lettering, but not if it's fake aged.

  11. This is like beating a dead horse. You hate fake age but honestly, it is the same thing as repainting a car to a "stock" color or original color. You are simply imitating reality. You can argue for days but it is the truth.

I will back Fauxtina or whatever the hell you call it, because it adds that much more to the originality of a project. Old shit looks good because it is
different, why do we all spend so much time and money on "old" vehicles? Because we are preserving something that looks good, weather it is in mint condition or all beat up. Some repaint a car and wax it's balls off and cries if a bug hits it, while others faux tina up their rides and some are "fortunate" to just have a beautiful nostalgic patina'd vehicle.

to each their own but if you wanna express one side, you are gonna get heat from another.

Not a hot rod, but I bet it towed a few! An original 1936 Chev Wrecker that was at an auction in Effingham, KS last weekend.

This thread is incredible! So cool stuff here, and it has stayed focused very well. Thanks, everybody!

  17. This is my buddy Ratso's truck....lettered by Larry "Pappy" Squires. Pappy also lettered the quarter panels on my Plymouth and Ratso's '40 Chevy drag coupe. I'll try to find decent pics of those and post them later.
