I know where a few more of these hoods are. Would you like me to check on one for you?

i have wanted an old pickup for a while now and recently came across a very solid, almost zero-rust, and no holes 63 c10 from kansas that was shipped here to Boston. windshield is cracked and the rear tail lenses are as well, small back window and door windows are fine, water pump is bad and the master cyl should be replaced. Truck starts right up. has original 283 4 speed on the floor. door has 2 small dents. was asking 3k he dropped it 2500. is that a fair price for one of these? I know thats a tough question without pics but its basically lacking in paint but very solid underneath and all around. 8 foot bed. oh and the wood bed is gone but the frame/slats are all there. good tires and wheels. good as in functional anyway. title in hand. i havent seen very many runners in good shape (ie not all rusted from new england weather) around New england in this price range. I am going to jump on it unless it is still way overpriced. most of the 1500-3k trucks i have seen are junkers or major projects. i know people run into 500 deals - can anyone help if this is a fair deal? i asked on a C10 forum and most believe it to be ok - not a steal by any means but seems to think its fair.

  3. Sounds like a good deal. 283 and floor shift are a +.

It sounds like a pretty fair deal. If it has no rust that is. Rust repair can get very expensive if you can't do it yourself. I would offer 2,000 and go from there. The worst he can say is no and counter your offer. It helps alot to show him the cash offer. Good luck with your truck purchase!

If it was a short wheel base truck then I would say it is indeed a fair deal, since you are located in New England.

But if you like longbeds... buy that sucker.

I am working on a 65 4x4 (original) with the stainless grill. Someone screwed up the tailgate by putting a custom flat tailgate on it. I am currently doing the wiring as it came to me without a fusebox! Also, instead of the worn 350 I purchased another truck (1989) that has a 1969 396 in it.

Too many projects, not enough time!

That would be awesome if you could find me one. Thanks, man!! I can't locate one in my area. I have so much BONDO on mine right now, it is probably 10lbs heavier than factory!! It is cancer-ridden, i tell ya!! I cut the rust out, but I don't own a welder, so i skinned it with sheetmetal and smeared it with bondo to hide the boo-boos.

Just picked this one up. Former brush truck from small-town Kansas fire department. Obviously 4x4, 327 and 4 speed. It is for sale.

thanks Woogeroo and thank you for the link to the other sites.

not to put you on the spot, but as an expert on these trucks, what would a fair price be? I acknowledge you don't have lots of knowledge about my truck, but let's just say it is of average driver quality.

I will share my asking price if you take the first shot.

    just for kicks

Heres my 66 I just sold at Goodguys Columbus last weekend.
dont let the farm truck look fool ya, it was all updated to 72 C10 suspension, drop spindles, disc brakes, drop coils and shocks, adj panhard etc. All new brake system front to back.

Dude looked at it at 530am in line at gate friday, and paid me cash at 9am.

I want to thank my brother realkustom51 for putting pics on of my truck. Something happened and some of the pics disappeared, but I got a few myself. Been driving it this last couple of weeks and its been fun. The 327 is really strong sounds so good. Rally Wheel came thru with a beautiful set of chrome reverse wheels like I have always wanted. After my 91 Chev truck gave out on me , I was out of money. If it wasn't for my brother Andy, this would have never happen. And he will get paid back. I did without a car and rode my bike for 3 months to pay some dues to get this going but it was worth it. I'm glad I only got to go a block or so to go to work! Heres what we did, in the rear I have the 5 in. springs with the 2 in. blocks, rod end panhard rod, c-ed frame. In the front is 3 in. springs , 2 in. dropped a-arms. 15x6 wheels, new exhaust , turbo mufflers, headers. Fixed the rust in the floors, lots to go. 54 Merc headlight rings and some kind of custom grille still to come , and one coat of patina.

I had to take my front bumpstops out when I got that low so it wouldn't bang. I'm interested to see what kind of grill you do.
