Not all drag cars are street-able, but some are… If you see this Silver Comet going down the street, the license plate is all you need to know about the cool Mercury Comet.

During the era of the Comets and S/S drag racing classes, the Cragar S/S Wheels became popular alternative to the pricy American Racing Equipment 5 Spoke Wheels.

The wheel that looks good on anything.

 

I believe they are an acquired taste like scotch. It’s a taste neither of which I acquired.

 

I love the original SS, with the rounded spokes. The new ones have flat spokes. If you look at the Cragar website, some of the photos have rounded spokes. I have asked their customer service about this: no response.
