One of the plans I have for my '32 3W is to eventually full fender it. I have some original steel guards I bought off Tony a while back.
So I thought I would do a cover to inspire myself.

Here's a quick one that has an interesting feel about it.

That is a great plan Geoff as that will definitely put your personal stamp on the car. I love fully fendered 32's but I do prefer 5W's to the 3's. Must admit that those suicide doors are much easier to get your bum on the seat which is probably why they are preferred by the "old" hot rodders LOL.
I am surprised that Tony parted with a set of 32 fenders though.

Ah ha Swifty. I caught him at a moment of weakness. He's been trying to buy them back ever since.

  5. The full fenders sound good. You can have it all, a 3 window, a 5 window, one with fenders, one without, one with a bonnet, one without. I do agree with swiftly though, I do prefer the 5 window.

Did you realise Geoff that you are probably responsible for my 32 5 window fetish as back in the very early days of Lake Gairdner you gave Corey and I a ride over the salt in your 32 5 window. Left a "big" impression on me anyway.
I now have a fully fendered one and currently working on a highboy version.

Sorry about that Swifty. I can only imagine the upheaval that has had on your life.
I know my 5W has lead me astray on many occasions, but mostly it has been the guiding light in my life. Sad but true.
I need to do some covers with my 5W.
FB, I like both, but I have done so much in and with the 5W. Many of my true friends I got to meet and know because of that old hot rod.

Here's a quick cover I just did, featuring Frank's roadster.

I never think of the past much, but obviously there are a lot of memories that are slowly fading in my aging mind. But one thing is for sure, most of my hot rod memories are good memories.
Here's a cover that is so much a contrast from the last one I showed. Good or bad I don't know.

I'm watching Geoff but on the wife's tablet so not posting much. Re your early morning shot, you don't see those angle iron and rod roof trusses much nowadays. Oh and I love that black 32-5 and you've done a conversion on Frank's roadster.

Thanks for the reply Swifty. I built my garage around 20 years ago.
Yeah that 5W is sweet, although I did chop and lower it.
The cover with Frank's roadster is real nice. I feel like I should have washed my coupe for it's cover shot though.

  16. I really like that picture of your 5 window all covered in dirt and salt, a lot of people wouldn't be game to drive it out there but I'm sure that would be a great memory for you. Somebody shared an old picture of you taking off from the start line at the bairnsdale drags in it, a little while ago. I think it was one of the organisers of the nostalgia drag event they are having there next year.

Thanks for that FB.That image of Bairnsdale was a long long time ago.
On the trip (s) to the salt, well I did it 9 times all up in the coupe, The coupe is suffering from that environment now, but hey I have no regrets.
It's true I am not scared to drive any of my cars anywhere.

  26. The hairpins on that 260 coupe are on kind of a funky angle aren't they? that's a hell of an engine setback too, you'd nearly have to be sitting on top of it. Cool car though.
