@squirrel Hey Jim, when you get a chance please post a short video of this wiper mechanism doing it's thing. It appears to be something that would be entertaining to those of us who appreciate the "mechanicalness" of cool stuff in action. Are the links to each pivot cables or rods? Hudson wipers.jpg

  5. Accomplishing everything on that list would seem to me to be harder than working. I have a new found respect for the Hudson.

  6. Not to distract from Jim's' GREAT ADVENTURES but I have to relate this one story abut a Hudson.
We were doing a carshow(Hells Canyon days) in the little town of Council, Idaho . The cars were on display In the middle of the street. There was a fellow with a pristine Hudson ,some where in the 50's, with all 4 doors open & the owner in a white shop coat walking about telling anyone that would listen about his Hudson. To everyone's amazement this little girl about 6 years old runs up & jumps in the back seat. I thought the old gent was going to have a heart attack. He started running about yelling "GET her OUT of there". The mother couldn't pull or coax her out. She was in the back seat forever it seemed . Finally the mom got some ice cream & she came out. She was as pretty as a picture & all dressed up. Hell no harm was done I don't see why they just didn't leave her sit there. Would have been a good photo shoot. Any kid that is interested in my junkers I open the door &tell them to get in. You can't wipe the smile off their face.
Sorry for the hi-jack Jim . Givem hell & win it all.

Tn he story just gets better. I was just thinking that there are guys on here who don't drive their rods the amount of miles you have put on the Hudson in a week in a two year period of time.

Got to drive on a dirt road in the mountain for about 15 miles. Fun!
Made it to Santa Cruz, almost the end of the rally. Concours tomorrow, then 900 miles home. IMG_20190816_104033495.jpeg

Watched your video putting oil in at some point in your adventure. Didn't have the sound on so I don't know if you covered it but just where do you find the old style metal cans that you use a push in spout...very traditional.

  20. Jim, is your brother navigating again this year? HRP

Made it to the end. Yay! The Concurs d LeMons is the finish line.

My brother could not make it, so I'm driving solo.

The car came with 5 cans of oil, from the 80s. IMG_20190817_082613278.jpeg

Jim, my sons and I are planning to do the Tour of Texas in Nov.. When do they give you the daily list of checkpoints? What do you find best to navigate with, I saw you had a GPS? Google maps? Or? Looks like a lot of fun.

Anyone know where Jim placed. Can't find a current standings thing on the Lemons page.

  28. In my book, he won it all just by getting out there and doing it. Safe travels Jim.

Jim' s car is way too real for "Pebble Beatch"....LOL
Nothing can compare to a car thats been in service for over 65 years snd still doing its job.
Stand around looking at trailer queens in Country Club Duds, no thanx...

The Hudson came in first place! The Yugo got second. Fun times.

Matt with the Yugo is from elgin IL. The checkpoint list for all week is given out at the beginning of the rally.

I'm going to hit the road now... IMG_20190817_115021251.jpeg
