The kid in the pic is Jack Urich Jr. Jack Sr. owned Urich Lincoln/Mercury and Urich Oil. The T was built as a promo tool for Urich Oil (I'll dig up one of the shots in front of the pumps). I restored this car in 2005-2006, put it back on the local circuit for a year and sold it to Greg at Artistic Silver Plate in LBC. ASP did the chrome work back in '69 with Greg (as a kid) doing the polish before plating. Pat Ganahl told me Lou passed, but the car was also included in Pat's first Lost Hot Rods book (the story isn't quite accurate, but not Pat's fault as I wasn't contacted before print).
There's so much more history to this car, I wish Pat would do a followup to correct some inaccuracies as well as delve into it's "second life" when it was gel coated yellow and put on the cover of "Ford Performance" by Pat.

I never could figure out small block big block. If it is weight a Studebaker V8 that never got bigger than 289 cu weighs more than a 500cu Cadillac and small block Chevy grew to more cubic inches than an early Chrysler Hemi did. Then I think bore centers but a late AMC v8 that most people think of as a small block has bigger bore centers then a 455 Olds or Pontiac.

  29. It refers to the physical dimensions of the block, not the inside measurements.
