Earlier on in this thread someone asked about production numbers. As far as i know the following only applies to English built cars. From the 6th of May 32 to 29th August 32 they built 2941 Tudors. 783 Standard Fordors and 2103 Deluxe Fordors . The later cars known as Fourteens were built from Oct 33 to Sept 34 . 799 standard Tudors, 473 deluxe Tudors , 1619 deluxe Fordors, 215 police cars, 60 , 7 passenger limousines and 65 travellers broughams , these were a tudor with a door in the back panel. From Oct 32 t0 Oct 35 they also built 10 and 12 cwt vans. The other body styles were imported from Canada as fully built up cars, from July 32 to January 33 they shipped to Dagenham , 70 5w coupes, 171 3w coupes, 400 cabriolets, 240 victorias, 1 fordor deluxe and 2000 v8 engines.
Thanks for the post! Very interesting. I knew there were between 2,000 and 3,000 Tudors built in the UK in 1932; so your figure seems to be right. And good to read about the other models/years. I'm supposed to meet Tony Thacker hopefully soon, as he has figures for other countries as well.
Mine on his wheels again , straighten and painted wheels , reversed spring and bobbed rear fenders. Still has to go down but that will be next winter when upgrading to juice brakes and dropped axle. Cant wait for spring to come !
Further to my earlier post on english production numbers i forgot to mention that they were for four cylinder cars . apart from that is the imperial limousines , which were all v8,s .The imports from canada were also all v8s, however some of the cabriolets and 5 window coupes had their v8s replaced with four cylinder engines, at Dagenham before being sold new. I know of two cabriolets that this was done to both were sold new with four cylinder engines but have v8 chassis numbers. There are said to have been 911 cars with v8s sold in Britain from june 1932 to december 1934, this is said to include 1933 and 1934 model 40,s. However Canadian exports to Dagenham for sale in Britain in the above period actually total 3489 . So does the figure 911 refer to english saloons fitted with v8,s, personally i think it does . The three saloons that i have owned in the past all had 14.9 engines, out of all of the saloons that i have seen here in England only one had a v8, the others all had 4 cylinder engines. The Imperial limousine that was on show at last years classic car show at the N.E.C. is one of three that are known to survive. When i can find the pictures i will post some of the cars i used to own.

This is a deluxe fordor i bought from an old guy in 2014, he was given the car in 1960, sadly he chose to leave it outside for a number of years, because of this all the wood framing is well and truly rotten. The engine was a 14.9 that is seized from being stood up all those years.
I only bought it as i needed the petrol tank and the horn bracket for another car. I had it for about five months, then sold it to a friend .
