Event Coverage The Denver Timing Assn. anual picnic

    The club was established in 1949 and has the distinction of having the Kenz & Leslie streamliner as part of the club when it was making it's record breaking runs.
    There have been, and are, other Bonneville, midget, drags and hill hill climb record setters in the club.
    There were six of the founding members of the club in attendance today, including 83 year old Tom Barney and his beautiful track t. Also Tom Ward and his Lincoln the May 53 Rod & Custom cover car. Also Hank Van Fleet, Bud Irons and Joe Piz. Cal Kennedy was also present. Cal drove the K&L roadster as a push car for the streamliner

    Hey Gary,
    That is a nice one,owned by Tom Barney, 83 years old. He's had it blown and injected and now back to carbs.

    Here are the surviving founding members that came to the picnic.
    They are among Denver's first hot rodders.
