You may stamp that car with the official Muttley seal of approval.

Very cool man, welcome to the gold side of hot rods :D

Sometimes I wish i had gone a little more yellow rather than green/brown with the gold I picked, that color you picked is really awsome...but like they said in that Ausin Power's movie "I love gold!"

I gotta kinda agree with the wheel thing...maybe something more 60's but hey, its your car...do what you want like you have been and keep having fun...you skater hood ;)

That car is gonna be hella kool!

No way Jose:) it's going to stay this satin look. It does have a bit of pearl in the paint and shines like a Gold brick from Fort Knox in da sun!
    thanks for looking,

  9. Great thread. I can relate because I've been working to get my ratty-ass 41 Pontiac coupe lookin a little better to take to the HAMB drags next month. Mine's gonna stay black but it's gonna be John Deere Blitz black instead of the sanded/scotchbrited black basecoat/clearcoat...

WOW! that suckers looking real good, can't wait to see the finished product.

  14. Looking great.

I'd tend to think that if you were to paint those steelies (or the wires) gloss black, it will look ACE, especially if you consider the addition of the white scallops with the black pinstripe............but that's just my 2c.

    Cheers,

    Drewfus

P.S. gotta send you a PM, will be in your part of town in about a month....:)

    Tim,
That was a very nice compliment and thank you. I showed Alex your comment and he was super stoked to hear that from all the hard work he's been put through to get this Coupe the way it's looking now... thanks again.
He smiled big time when he read this!

I really like the color as well. The right color can make or break the style of car. Congrats to the whole build/paint team. Looking forward to seeing photos of it finished.

    Tim,
here's the number for Alex @ Gambino Kustoms 408-561-5744:)
if you want to see some of his other work:
    http://www.deadendmagazine.com/proyectos.html

    and click on Gambino's 54

you'll see the chassis work he did on his Chevy ...it looks sweet!

  25. The new paint is killer. I thought the car looked good before, but this is a big improvement. I'm inclined to agree with Evel about the rims though. It's just crying out for a set of chrome reverse, or better yet, chrome reverse with polished vintage 5-spokes and slicks out back.

    Holy Crap!

That color kicks serious ass! What kind of pearl did they add to it? did they clear it with a flattner - or just say "no" to clear. friggin gorgeous Mang! I'd love to do that same sort of treatment on a different metallic!

Can't wait to see the finished product - was waiting for an update on this! Still going with scallops?

  29. This is Alex's wife's car...I love the paint job he did on this one....
