Saw the California Kid the year it was released. Never forgot it. Great flick. Vick Morrow got his. Remember how the local mechanic set up Sheen's 34 Ford for the dangerous cliff turn so Morrow's '57 Belvedere would go off the cliff chasing Sheen's bumper. Great ending. Justice served!

 

He adjusted his OWN suspension, Nick Nolte, the pump jock, just loaned him the use of his fire pit.

Chris Carrier from Hartford, Ct. bought "The California Kid" from Pete Chapouris just after the movie came out. We all wondered were the hobby was going when Pete acceped the $25,000 offer. That was crazy money for a car without an interior.
