    Vagrant,
    thanks for the welcome:)
Yes... the Faction still lives, we have a show in Scotland next weekend so the band is hyped to be flown over to Aberdeen for a few days to play. I'm also going there to open up a new skatepark and do a demo there, should be a fun short trip.

After Odd Man Out, came the bands... Shovelhead and Soda. We started up with the Faction again in 2000. we don't play out very much, only on special occasions.

...that place is was flipping off back in the day was a skate spot called "the Bricks" that they had just ruined and made un-skateable was located in downtown San Jose... we were bummed:(

Super cool bands - all of 'em. Me likey. I was so excited that you joined the board that I have been playing as you on X-Box for a couple of weeks now - and I still suck.....

BTW, Doug Henry is a ruler because he could have quit ANY TIME after breaking his back not once but TWICE and breaking BOTH ARMS!!!! And those are just three injuries in a looooong career. To top THAT off he went on to win the Outdoor Nationals AFTER all of those wrecks.....A lot of people were on the McGrath bandwagon (rightly so - he kicks ass) but I was a steadfast Henry fan. He rode for the true love of riding when most would have been riding a lawnchair in the pits after the FIRST back-breaker...... And he still rides for fun on his own time even now.

That's SKATE OR DIE mentality if ever there was such a thing......

  3. Wow, ..the Faction in Scotland...Damn that's cool..Good luck with that hope it goes well.

I did a search in Google and Amazon.com for Soda and Shovelhead...found a tiny bit on shovelhead. (And a small review of a Caballero Mixology cd...something like that..Describes Soda as a fast version of Sixpence...Interesting.)
What label are those bands on ?

Cab, welcome to the the HAMB. You have a lot of admirers.
You were born in '64? I had a skate board in '64. [IMG]

Did/do you know a skater by the last name of Yandell(sp)? He was pretty hot in the '70s and lived in Calif.
He has a brother named Pat and I use to play in a band with Pat. He was an awesome guitarist at 16 years old!
    Nice coupe, and again, welcome.

You're probably thinking of Chris Yandell, he rode for G&S and Tracker in the 70's, I think he may have designed the G&S YoYo wheel, or I have it stuck in my head for some reason... His Who's Hot was around the summer of 76.... I think I retain soem useless knowledge sometimes, then someone mentions something like this and bam....

  8. Holy Shit your on here. Cab you need to know that you were a HUGE insperation to all of us who have skated. Glad to see that you are still skating. I got the old man syndrome and have not even looked at my board in a million years and now think that I just might get it out and see what I still can do (insert your best girl screem of a old man injured on the ground trying to relive the glory days.) Anywho I have some info on your car on who built it orginally. If you interested pm me and I will get you his phone number. Don't let anyone give you shit about buying the car done already. The fact is you have awsome taste and you did not buy a gold chainer car. Welcome to the HAMB SKATE AND DESTROY.

that's way cool. I spent some time with Larz on the Vans warped tour last summer and i showed him my A coupe and he was super stoked on it. Glad he's putting the Harley away and getting on four wheels:)
Can't wait to see what he gets. He's from my neighborhood in Campbell and we always talk about our Campbell pride:) He's come along way and followed his dream of making it in the music industry, he's no joke and he's been a punk since day one... i'm proud of what he's accomplished in the music scene:)

Wait a minute, isn't that Boydy Dughi's old coupe? it used to have multiple carbs and 409 valve covers on it, I think it's in that Cruisin book in Paso, parked next to my old 31 coupe. I always thought that 409 valve covers looked stupid on it, glaad to see it's not ashamed to be a small block anymore. I was in the lucky devils back when he was building that car, kinda in shock that it's still in one piece. Welcome to the board.

Yes, it's Buddy's old car who he sold to another fella that i purchased it from:) I just got a new Offenhauser manifold with a 3-2 intake, Rochester carbs that i'll be adding to it soon, should look nice! If you have any old pics of it's build or production while Buddy was working on it that would be awesome, i would love to see some history of the coupe in it's making:)
let me know and thanks for the welcome,

right on, the 3x2 set-up will look good, The Lucky Devilas as far as i know they are still around, although, I think Buddy is the only original member. Most of us split outta there around the same time, and over the years started seperate clubs, like the road zombies, pedestrian killers, vultures, Barons, Checks, Von Franco joined the Beatniks. Still talk to lots of the guys though. I used to have a pic of buddy and the A when he was in the middle of chopping it, but I have a feeling I threw it away when I moved. If I find it, I'll let ya know.

Welcome to the board. I too am a big fan. I used to skate back in the day also now I'm just a lazy bastard. Beautiful car by the way. In your intro you mention wanting to build you own someday, I'm in the process of learning the art right now and I'm having a blast. I also happen to be in the lead for your auction which I hope I win. If I do I have a special request for the autograph If thats possible.
