holy shit thats fucking cool. you influinced me and my buddies. there was a group of us that got together every weekend to skate differnt cities. we went by Concrete Skate Team. [IMG]

i skated with Pablo Diaz, Guy Mariano, and the rest of the younger crew. when they first got sponsored by Powell. i'm actually in some of the background shots. Natas was a cool guy to skate with also. Matt Hensley and the rest of the H-ST crew where the shit.

any info you can give me on locating these videos would be great. these are so hard to find.

You speak the truth. Too many tough guys out there already. The world needs more genuine people who just plain old rock! It doesn't hurt if they like skating, rods, kustoms, and bikes too [IMG]

Welcome! I know you've heard this about 500 times today, but you were a big hero of mine growing up. I learned a lot about skating watching you & your buddies- I hope you can learn a lot about hot rods from me & my buddies here (probably not from me though, I'm a hack. [IMG])

I haven't been on a skateboard in years, but today I got out my furniture dolly-- uh, I mean my old board and I did a half-cab heelflip in the street in front of my house.[IMG] Then I twisted my bad ankle, and I remembered why I haven't been on a skateboard in years. [IMG]

  17. Welcome CAB! I had been asking in a different skating thread if you were still riding. This is a cool way to find out.

Your coupe is slick. I really like the stance and the aggresive chop. How much was it chopped?

When I get back from the DOTD I'm going to have to dig out my old Bones Brigade tapes. Not going to try and skate again though. I never was much good and that was to long ago. Great to see your still at it!

My story is very similiar to Marq's, skated till I was 15 then fell hard for the hot rods and boys, end of skating. (Marq's was girls of course [IMG]) Never followed the skate "scene" so I hadn't a clue who you are but if your cool with the masses here you've got to be an alright dude. Seems like you have a great sense of humor which is a plus in my book although you could use alittle help with forming paragraphs. [IMG] [IMG]

Lots of very knowledgeable folks hang out here so your going to have the opportunity to learn alot about hot rods. You've got a great looking coupe. Welcome to the HAMB!

    Cab,

What a blessing to read this post and realize that you really are who you say you are - I thought it was a prank. So thanks for signing up.

I just want to give you another welcome and tell you that you influenced me too. When I was growing up (in god forsaken Iowa!) there wasn't much to do for a bunch of kids and NO SKATING signs were popping up all over town like dandylions in a suburban lawn. A politic that I could rant on for an hour......but anyway......

Watching videos and reading "Thrasher" with my walkman playing the Dead Milkmen, Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Jane's Addiction was the kind of thing that shaped me into the person that I am. Skating, riding my bike and moto-cross were ways for me to express my feelings. I wasn't ever trying to "win" anything, I just wanted to be in that groove....so thanks for the inspiration.

To be honest I was part of the Hawk generation, so he's my #1, but you don't suck and since you signed up here you could maybe bump him... [IMG]

Man this is taking me back....I used to sit in homeroom and draw all kinds of "skate" stuff. It was some of my first (and most creative) art. I probablly have drawn you or an image based on you a dozen times.

Me and my friends used to call ourselfs TFF - Team Frikkin' Frish (frish was our own word for "fresh"). And we used to make our own "News-letter" in conjunction with another local team - Team Bullwinkle. It was basically a bunch of kids playing with a xerox machine and cussing. [IMG] I did the art for it for a while. We tackled the NO SKATEBOARDS rule and freedom of expression issues....LOL. Kinda funny. I also designed the Team Bullwinkle logo - it was a silohette-skater busting a dog-pisser with a Bullwinkle head and big feet. HA HA......what a trip.

Man we were cool. We all sucked (with the exception of a handfull of us) but we had the spirit, and we never stopped trying. And if we did something stupid, we named it and called it a trick.....Fuck the rules!!!!

....now if we could only get Doug Henry........

  22. I have a few funny skateboarding stories... one is of this old man that used to sit out on his front porch, I'd stop by to shoot the shit with him once in a while... anyway, there was a goup of kids that used to skate across the street at the school... in the same spot, day after day. Well, a number of months went by, and one day they were out there kicking their boards up in the air trying to "ollie"... each time, slamming them down on the ground... one foot on, board upside down, falling on their asses every sixth try... and Carl says with a straight face as he points to some kid who just fell on his ass...

"They're no better than the first day they started..."

I admire what some people can do on a board.

"Do you still have that massive Spawn collection?"

Yes... i do, but it's in storage with tons of other toys... to many collections and not enough room to display:( that what sucks about collecting... you run out of room.

Funny... I showed Lance mountain my Coupe when i first got it and the first words out of his mouth was..." your not going to start collecting these now are you?"

    Funny comment, but true:(
