My brother moved down to Fort Worth over the weekend and I took advantage of that to make the trip up to Denton, TX for the Texas Thaw. The Torques did a great job making this drag race/car show happen. There were plenty of cars to check out, races to watch, and sunburn to be had. Met a few new HAMBers and even got to take a ride in the Casey coupe.

It was difficult getting good pictures of the rides which all seemed hell-bent on sitting in the sun at awkward angles making it hard to capture the "good side" of them, but I made the best with what I had.. There are a few muscle cars in there but just a few. Hope you guys enjoy.

"Blasted" on here, which is the current caretaker of the Casey coupe, was more than kind enough to let me sit in it, then he invited me for a short ride down to the staging lines.

One of my favorite rides at the show to check out was BigKen's pick-up. I hadn't had a chance to really eye it over at the other shows but since this was a smaller show, I took advantage of that to look over a lot of the cars there..

I also tried my hand at snapping some shots of the cars in motion.. Then decided I liked looking at them up-close and moved on.

As far as I know, there was one causality at the drags.. Two if that blue wagon broke something?

Is there any info on this car available from a HAMBER. A friend of mine owned one exactly like this one in high school. His was three on the tree, 292 engine. We were from Eastland in central TX.

  22. some great pics there, thanks for sharing

  23. Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. Looks like a great turnout.
Can't believe the 60 Sunliner pulling the camper trailer.
    Later,
    Dick

Great Pics, The pic with my rod was so BLURRED. Gone in 6 secs. Or sumthing like that. Yellow Belly it is. Along with some muscle car challenge races in between.

I too love seein' that car. Because I know I'm going to be eating a fried cherry pie later on in the day, and that always makes me happy.

Thanks for the nice words everyone! I'm far from a professional behind the lens but I appreciate that you guys like them. :)

Meh. It's still a nice wagon. I'm sure people decided against taking their cars to the Thaw for a lot less than messed-up paint. No reason to be ashamed of a mistake. We all make mistakes..
