My wife bought this sign for me for my birthday last month. My buddy had it for sale and I mentioned to my wife I’d like to get it. When I talked to him next he said he decided to keep it. Little did I know my wife called him and told him shed take it. I finally got it yesterday, and it’s a lot bigger then I realized. It’s 15’ long and a little over 3’ tall. I got it hung over my garage tonight, and I love it. It fits perfect. Has anyone ever seen a sign like this, or even better, have any pictures? I believe it’s from the early 60’s. It’s fiberglass and I would imagine was illuminated from behind
That looks great on your garage. If you are any thing like me that will lead to a collection of signs, cans and all other things Texaco that you can find. I have so much petromobilia (all brands but heavy on Sohio) stuff in my garage it has taken over a lot of space. It is like an addiction!!
Looks great, Chris! Yes, looks like it was meant to be there all along. Perfect how the ribs of the sign mimic the ribs of your siding..........Righteous!
I have collected a few Phillips 66 things to match the pump...but I will probably switch it to Texaco now haha! Truth be told I don't usually buy signs or stuff like that because it cost so much and I'd rather buy car parts. But that pump cost me 100.00 and I know what the sign cost and it wasn't much more. I would never spend thousands on a gas pump or sign...it's just not my thing. Now early Fords or old pickups....that'll drain my account HAHA
You have a great wife that is cool enough to get you this sign, the sign is magnificent, and at some point, you should experiment with illuminating it from behind with easy to install solar powered LEDs to let it light up at night. Just a thought.
