    Love this. LOVE it. I think I'm most impressed with the panel fitment, and having done 2 two door conversions myself I know that's the toughest part.

    I am curious though to know why you decided to splice it together up into the roof skin as opposed to breaking the spot weld seam under the drip rail and attaching it there, because that way the roof skin is untouched. That's how I plan to do my '57 Chevy which will be the next one of mine to get converted. Both of my Mopars didn't require any roof cutting either, although their design makes them easier to convert.

    Although with the alignment and welding skills you are showing here, I'm sure it'll turn out top-notch no matter where you put your seams. I look forward to seeing updates. Even the bracing looks high quality. And where did you get that flexible metal ruler? I totally want one of those now!

  11. The twinkies were gone before the end of the week. This week should be even better, got a fresh box of Ho-Ho's :)

    It's a Miller 180SD TIG machine, the only thing I've found so far I don't like about it is that the post flow isn't adjustable (at least not without looking at the manual, still need to do that), it seems the thing runs forever.

    I am, who the fuck are you? :D

  18. I'm not sure how a '57 Chevy roof goes together but the way that the quarter, drip rail, and roof come together on this one dosen't allow for it to be easily cut apart and put back together...at least I couldn't see a way to do it. Here's the cross section on the donor car after I cut it.

    I got the metal ruler at Office Depot.

    Saw a car at a cruise night this summer Wasn't chopped but had the 2 door thing done to drivers side with aftermarket wheels and deluxe trim----other side still had 2 doors and stock hubcaps and standard trim:eek:

  30. The quarter panel sections I cut off of a parts car I've got. Almost everything else on the car is wasted, kinda wierd how the quarters were so good.
