I was working up there recently. Had a crew of mill wrights show up in a truck F550 not ready for not prepared for winter in New England. They pulled up to the service department at Tasca Ford on a Saturday about 715AM. There was a guy inside working on the computer. He wouldn't even look out the window at us. It wasn't even until late Tuesday they called and said call Ford roadside and have it moved to a Tasca dealership more equipped for trucks. I was pissed, I know they weren't open yet that Saturday but that guy could of looked out the window opened the door and told us wrong dealership.
Love this thread and am new here [been reading it for a long time of course]. John Healey works with me at NAPA in Seekonk Mass. He's a parts driver and at 80 he is as feisty as ever. He is a dear friend and has never seen this thread. I'm going to show it to him come Monday. I came here to do some research for building him a T-Bolt model of his own. I found it hard to believe he didn't even have one. Since I am an accomplished builder it seemed only right to build one for him and present it when complete. These photo's are pure gold and a big thanks to all that posted.
Funny about Ford having a midsize in 62-3 for some big engines swaps while Chevrolet was grasping. Pontiac had the converted Tempest which made for great racing between Ford and Pontiac with the Mopar's sneeking in some big engine swaps to the Darts. In 64 Ford again pulled out a winner with the Mustang making a more compact slippery race car and GM was again on the outside looking in until 67. Fairlane's, Comet's, Chevelle's, GTO's and the mid-size Mopar's gave some of the greatest midsize head to head racing ever both in altered and standard wheelbases. I still have a soft spot for the era of 1958 thru 1968 with 62-65 being my favorite....Then I got married...OH Well...
