I know it has probably been talked about. But I spotted this old classified ad of Tweedy Pie. I don't know how old the ad was. But this was a no sale at Mecum in Monteray at 200k. Hell of a return on your money. $2300 into $200,000 plus. I wonder resto costs were?
It seems like 95% of the FREAKIN guys nowadays would sell it as soon as they could make a profit, $3000 dollars and it`d be long gone. Bought and sold every few years.
I bought the El MAtador in the seventies for $2500. It is all relative to the times. It was a lousy investment because you could get 16 percent on a CD. Now you can't get 2 percent on a CD and the El Matador is worth $100,000. It all about love.
Mid 60's $2300.00 would be $15,920.00 (or so) today. They weren't really giving cars away back then either, but if it'll bring $200,000.00 now I guess it still would have been a good investment. But if $$$$$$$$ is what counts, Warren Buffett would have probably made you a lot more. Larry T
