T350 shifting ??

Just picked up another Chevy car been sitting for a while was low on ATF filled now but doesn't seem to wants to down shift. While in DRIVE at 30MPH the tach is screaming at 2300 rpms ?

Is the vacuum line hooked up to the modulator?

 

yes .... could the modulator be clogled ?

I think you mean up-shift (1st to 2nd). Down-shift would be 2nd to 1st.

It won't down shift ?? As in 3rd to 2nd

Or it won't up shift as 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.

 

If it won't up shift (from 1st to 2nd) check your vacuum line.

I was having the same problem and my lines appeared to be ok but they where collapsing under vacuum. Got some reenforced vacuum line aka fuel line and replaced it and its shifting like a champ.

 

do you mean upshift or downshift?

pull the governor and check the gears
