Picked up a Y block motor that was on its way to the scrap pile. Funny how one car guy's trash is the holly grail to a Y block hoarder.

This motor was in someone's hotrod at one point and the guy decided to ad breathers to an original set of thunderbird covers. I could have lived with the breather for the car I'm using them on but the breathers were already missing.

A quick blast of the damaged area, then hit each hole with a counter sink to turn up some clean meat. I welded the holes up with 1100 filler wire. They were alittle dirty welding but turned out OK

Now its time for a lot of elbow grease.

I always marvel at what some guys will cut up. I'd have kept those stock, just for the cool logo on top. Great save!

When I was younger, I used a pair of them with a board on top to build ramps for my bicycle!

Great save. I collected parts for a Y Block years ago just because I wanted to run those valve covers on one in a hot rod.
