How do i tell them apart?? kinda want an early t-10 for my 283 powered roadster to keep it all the right era
the t-10 will blow up if you go form reverse to first at 30 mph in an attempt to do a massive burnout. The super t-10 will not. because it is super.
t10 has normal glide,th350, t5 etc etc output spline....the super T10 has the big TH400 output spline. And yes, it is super. Super Duper T10 has 189 spline output from a D9.
Actually, the late 50's/early 60's BW T-10's had a course spline output shaft, the same as the 3-speeds and Powerglides used. They might even be more correct for the "era" he's looking for. The Super T-10's had a TH400 style output shaft, and a larger, fine spline input shaft. Butch/56sedandelivery.
Here is an EARLY Borg Warner T10 (All 1965 and earlier T10's look like this. They can be aluminum cased or cast iron cased. All have an aluminum tail shaft. 10 spline input, 16 spline output. : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140396933692&viewitem= Here is a Super T10. First year was 1974. Can be iron case or aluminum case. All have iron side covers. All are 26 tooth input and large (Turbo 400 style) 32 spline output. They have ONLY 3 mounting holes on the tailshaft for a shifter. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Supe...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories If anyone tells you different they just don't know what they are talking about. -Matt
Thanks, it's going in a t roadster, with probably a pretty basic 097 duntov'd 283 so it wont be abused too bad
