Technical surge

    i have a 327. eddy carb 650 avs runs good , but when cruising about 2500 rpm’s it feels like it’s surging or missing. but runs good when ya nail it. jets?

    Put a little softer spring under the metering rods. Surging is usually a lean condition.

  3. If you want to richen the mixture earlier, I think you'll actually want to try a stiffer spring. The softer spring will let the metering rod stay down longer at a given manifold vacuum, thus delaying any enrichment. A slightly smaller metering rod might also help your diagnosis of a lean surge at light throttle cruising speeds.

    has mallory dual point in it also ,with mechanical. eddy high rise open plane with 1 “ spacer. headers 10” air cleaner
