Sultans car club of Long Beach, CA Annual Long Beach K-9 police benefit Sat., May 12, 2018 L.B. Police Officers Assoc. Park ...just dropping by with some car imagery to share with those who are curious and have some extra time to spare. Stopped by a locally held event hosted by a local club from my stomping grounds, The Long Beach K-9 officers association benefit, organized and hosted in conjunction with the Sultans Car Club of Long Beach, CA. Quick history lesson: the car club was formed by a group of students from Jordan High School in the North Long Beach area during the early 1960's, went defunct for a few decades and re-immerged in the early 1990's. The show is a one day event limited to 300 pre-1973 cars and is held in the shade tree green space of the Long Beach Police Officers Association park. There's an entry fee for participant cars but spectators are free and all who attend can buy event T-shirts, bar-b-q lunch, raffle tickets for prize drawings and look at some neat rides, listen to music over the P.A. and witness a K-9 police demonstration all in one place. The show is an all volunteer affair with 100% of the net proceeds going directly to the Long Beach K-9 police organization to support the purchase and ongoing care of new & current canines in the department. Though so close to home, this is first time attending and was pleased to have made the time after my son and I were coming home from our early A.M. 'ear-lowering' appointment nearby. There's 30 images here on this page and another group in the second & last thread related to this group, so when finished here look for part II and view the rest. Hope you all find something you like; Enjoy the view! PRE48V-8\;^]
....there's a picture of an officer with his K-9 partner on the "Part II" thread. Got there early & had to leave early, so didn't get to watch the K-9 demonstrations. Maybe next year....PRE48V8\:^]
