Currently have 4.3 Studes. On loan for my Bonneville Bucket List is this 1963 Studebaker Avanti.

Originally owned and raced with a lot of success by Bill Burke and his family. Car is current record holder at 239.208 in the C/CBFALT class. Has hit 250+. Was raced by Doug and Mike Cook (Stone, Woods and Cook) for 12 years. Two records still on the books for El Mirage with Mike at the wheel. Went nostalgia last year with 289 Stude power and had a blast. Hoping to do it again this year.
Next is my 1949 2R5 pick up that is for sale to finance my gasser truck project.
This is my next project. A 1953 2R5 truck that I will be turning into a gasser look alike street cruiser. Stude powered of course, no pie cutter power for my Stude's. I want to go fast and be dependable.
I took this frame with suspension from the same guy and I was glad I did:
That's because I used the front and rear axles and suspension to update and modernize my wife and I's most prized possession this one of a kind, mostly original survivor 1952 2R5 Vista Leisure Coaches very cool camper truck.

I will use this to tow the '53 to car shows, cruises and of course to Bonneville. Now if you think this is not going to be a cool looking duo then you have ice water in your veins or your dead.

Lotta' cool cars/projects, and STUDE powered!... Oh Yeah!!!

  4. Seems to be enough project pictures, so I will add to the picture show, my 55 coupe that is my land speed racing project. Currently no work going on and it is a rolling shell - at least when the tires are not flat. Needs a lot of work to make into a full fledged race car, but for now it is sitting waiting its turn. Since the front end is wrecked, i plan to put a fiberglass 53-54 front end on it, I like the looks better and since it is a race car, the glass front will work out good.

It looks rough in these pics, but the body is actually pretty solid. This was sitting up in the mountains under a large tree for 40 years, last registered 1969. Floorboards are gone, but the outside sheetmetal is not bad. Too far gone to put back on the street without more work than buying a better condition one, but perfect for making into a race car.

Here's a picture of my 1961 Hawk..289, 3 spd manual w/overdrive. The picture with the Trailer was taken at the Morning Maniacs, a group of gearheads that meet every Saturday morning in McKinney TX. One of the guys had a restored Happy Home trailer there..he and decided it would make a neat pic if I backed the Hawk up and made it look as if the HH was hooked up to the Hawk...then I got My wife Teresa, my daughter Grace and her buddy Cloie to climb in..

Running WOS last year, timed at a whopping 110.274mph! Other than safety gear and a 4bbl manifold it was stock. Hopin for the 130 club this year...

Here is a cool Studebaker (Studillac) that I saw today at the New Hope Auto Show in Penna. It was built back in the day by the same guy who built the iconic East Coast "Goldenrod" Deuce roadster.
Note the interesting features such as Cad engine, 2 generators, tape player, body mods, etc.

Here's a few more Studes I saw at New Hope. Studebaker made quite a variety of interesting cars. (I know, the last one's called a Packard)

Here's my '59 scotsman. I'm going to leave the paint but finish the interior up in the '50s style. My friend has a louver press, so the hood might get the treatment.

If that is an actual scotsman (not doubting at all) there is a fellow on the studebaker truck talk board that maintains a registry of Scotties. I sure he would like to hear from you. the truck board is searchable so a look for scotty or scotsman registry should yield the link.

Here's my 55 Stude, just a lowered rig with a little HP thrown in for the heck of it. Lots of fun to drive.
