Here's a really big Stude!
These are not mine but belong to a local Kiwi guy here in NZ.
Big Block Chevy powered.
He also has these.
I like them, but that pink thing has to go!
Here's my Lark in progress. I've been keepin it on the DL cuz I don't wanna see another one bulit just like it haha. But should be up n' runnin this year. Straight axle, spindle mounts, Stude motor and 4spd!!
Yeah, the "Pink Thing"..those are some good lookin Studebakers, but why would you put all that time and $$ into a bulletnose and make it look like that?..
The guy that owns all them Studes I posted above has had about 70 Studebakers.
A real fanatic.
The pink thing...
His cars. His money. You need to see it in real life before trashing it.
Love this tread! Let them come.....
Here's my 57 Silver Hawk. She is for sale in the classified section.
These shots were taken at the Antique Nationals at Fontana raceway a couple of weeks ago. Car is running an Alky burning fuel injected BB Chevy.
All you guys with these modern Studes....here's mine, sitting in the wings waiting for me to get to it, showing 19,211 original miles. It sat in a barn since before 1960 (that's when the previous owner died). No chassis...just the nearly perfect, complete body and hood - a rat rodder beat me out of the chassis (with a severely rotted body) this should have gone on at the auction - but now I won't feel required to restore it! I'm lazily trying to sell it, but truthfully want to build it!
Man...saw this running around at Charlotte Autofair this Spring...absolutely loved it! Beautiful truck!
just picked up this 53 Commander coupe in South Dakota last plates were 1969
after cleaning out the dirt the floors and trunk had no rust
the outer body is very good except for the usual fender rust and the rear of right 1/4 needs to be straightened
chrome grille bezels no pits shined up nice
A couple of pics. of my '53 "The Breeze". The first two from Santa Maria 2010, the last from Great Labor Day Cruise at Orange County 2001.
LIFESTYLEZ... I'm diggin' that '50 sedan delivery! Any more pics of that car?
Rocky, I've seen your car at Paso right? Nice.
Here is one that DRD57 took of the 974 on the salt with 1FAT GMC push truck. The 974 is currently the second fastest Studebaker to hold a record on the salt. It is possible that next month it will be the fastest Studebaker that is holding or held a record on the salt.
I spent today block sanding the doors and preparing them for paint. The bottom of the doors were starting to rust through. This is just a temporary fix. The next time I will replace the lower skin. I am also fixing some damage on the front air dam. The salt and the runs there have been hard on the old car.
Yeah I took it to the Ol' Paso several times over the years, (late 90's,
early 2000's) and to the James Dean Run, where I received an award
from Rich Pichette.
I just got it back on the road late last year after seven and a half years
of down time.
Good score! I like the Mopar police car wheels and poverty caps.
Leave some Studes for the rest of us though!!!
A couple of shots taken at the Bonneville speed trials in 2004.
gee...don't get me started on my crew....or you could tell me to spend $1500 for the NOW windowless 55 Speedster this pennyless idiot has held on to for years...while his kids go shoeless and hungrey...
Have found this 53 here in Sweden. A friend of mine will go check it out tomorrow.
Here's my 48 Studebaker Starlight with a 50 clip (daily driver)
cant figure out how to postem but my grandfather gave me his 53 studebaker 2r5 pickup when i was 15 and i did a lot of work but stopped on it since i got a model A project, we went to a swap meet today and he just bought a cherry 50 2r5, looks like im selling off a car to get mine running now!
Our old 63 R2 Superlark, my 63 Avanti, Dad's 64 Avanti, 65 Daytona and the 66 Daytona that he took the new off of.
Here is my 54 Conestoga in process. Found it in Arizona as a drag car with a tilt front end and a big block chevy. It is now C4 Corvette underneath (LT1/6 speed) and original style front clip. One of these days . . .
Nice, very nice.
There are a few photos of it, on a page I created for it, on my Bullet Nose Paradise website.
