Customs Studebaker People

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 345 DeSoto, Jan 3, 2017.

  1. Any Studebaker people here? After I built the car in my Avatar, I took a long Hiatus. I now have a 56 Studebaker Sky Hawk that I'm putting back together (17,000 original miles).

    Yea...there's a few of us.
My daily driver is a 59 Lark, 2dr wagon. It's soon to be replaced by a 54 2dr. wagon. I also have another 54 wagon that I'm building to be the way they were done in the 60's, with a coupla modern goodies.
Then there's my 60 lark 2dr. wagon that I put a C4 Vette front suspension, 9" with a Morrison four link in the back. Full roll cage, bumper to bumper. It's turned into my retirement project..!

Would love to be a Studebaker person but I can't talk my brother into selling me his 49 pickup. It's been parked inside since about 1976. Flat six with overdrive. A someday project.

I'm in a friend's will to get his '60 Lark should he expire before me!

Mrs. Francine Studebaker. The hottest 7th grade History teacher ever. Saw her panties once. Even though it was just the top of surely "grannie" panties .... that 13 year old has had hopes and dreams ever since.

    More pictures please.

Studes are sweet. I have a '37 Coupe Express pickup that has been in my family since new. It's currently under restoration. This pic is of my grandfather putting up hay with it in about 1948. The girl in the middle is my mom, who is now 74 years old. [IMG]

I'm a Stude addict. 37 President Coupe, 55 Speedster and 57 Golden Hawk. If I had more room I'd have more Studes.

  30. Well, since there ARE Stude guys here, I'll fill you in. The Hawk DOES have 17K on it, but that's the good news. The old timer who had it, started taking it apart, for God knows what reason, in 1975....then died...that's the bad news. It sat in his barn up until I bought it last year. When I got home, the engine had set-up SOLID, prompting a rebuild. The car was FILTHY, inside and out, the inside being home to generations of rodents. Cut to the chase, engine was pulled and TOTALLY rebuilt, T-86 w/OD was replaced with a totally redone Monte Carlo SS 200-4R, engine bay sanitized and repainted, brakes redone (all 4 were frozen), and front suspension dismantled and replaced. Being old and scary, it's taken more out of me than when I built my '32, but it's coming along. Warm weather will be here before you know it, and my new Wife (A-1 Machinist and Mechanical Engineer) and I will head back North for the Summer. 3.jpg
