    If you drive them they inevitably are going to show the wear and tear of the road. My "beaters" are all finished or near finished vehicles that I use as regular cars as originally intended. They get upgraded as time and money allow, but I always keep one on the road. The need to define what a car is strikes me funny. Beater, resto-rod, street rod, rat rod, etc. It's mildly irritating that some of G-public refer to my or any unfinished vehicle as a rat rod 'cause it's not ratty or built shoddy or for shock value. They are done in most cases better then factory, but not a "show" car where I need to whip out the feather duster. I can use it. Just as the original post was about a vintage car used often and daily. Driving a old car is cool and therapeutic for me.
