Hot Rod Packards car is one of the coolest street rods Ive ever seen. Ive seen it the last 2 years at Bonneville and always look for his yearly updates. People were walking right by a high dollar hemi powered street rod to gape at HRPs car which was really pissing the guy off in front of the Nugget. I get ill just seeng a small block Chevy powered rod any more.
this thread is giving me crazy ideas.... ideas that will cost me a lot of money ideas... ive had 3 buick straight 8's a 41, 50 and 48. the 41 and 50 were 263's and the 48 that i have now is a 320 in my roadmaster... nothing fancy and its painted the wrong color. anyone have the spark cover for a 320?
It's in there . 320 Buick in a 52 Buick Super Rivi . Bonneville Land Speed Race car # 1503 Her name : BOMBSHELL
Here are some from this years speed week. I was trying to get a picture of the valve train in the second engine. They put the cover on before I could. It was very impressive.

on my picture you'll see its a 1953 263ci straight 8,it has a compound manifold from a 1941 Buick. It fit PERFECT.It was just a BITCH finding one in good condition...guess I was lucky that day Ralphy
Actually I meant after market for the various straight eights. I saw a pre 1940's Buick when I was 19 years old that was for sale, couldn't afford it. Looking back, I'd gone to the bank and begged. This was in 1961.
I run an Edmunds on my buick. Edmunds is the only after market manifold I have heard of for the buicks.
Not too long ago, there was a HAMBer(Alliance Member?) selling straight 8 exhaust flanges. This enables you to build your straight 8 exhaust any way you want. There are quite a few Str8ers who built their own intake and exhaust manifolds. I'll see if I can dig up the name of the outfit that sells the flanges. Fryguy
I actually just remembered, its Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle. They are an Alliance member. Here is a link to the header flanges, they have them for all Buick straight 8 sizes(248/263 & 320) http://www.hotrodchassisandcycle.com/parts_cars.php
Link didnt work for me fryguy.... Check this out- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0433538357&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT I need more money!
Mine's like RalphBoy's, with the 41 intake: Only it's not near as pretty, and its the smaller 248. Fryguy's link had a double http in it, worked for me after I cleaned it up: http://www.hotrodchassisandcycle.com/parts_cars.php
