Folks Of Interest Still drag racing at 78

One of our car club membersm, Ronnie Calder, is a long time hot rodder. He still owns the Model A roadster he built in 1950!
He has just taken up drag racing again and has bought two drag cars. One is a Pinto wagon and the other is an altered A (at least I think it is an Altered).
He runs consistent 124mph and is always looking to go faster.

I wish I am able to do what he is doing when I'm 78!

Elmer Unsprung Snyder at 86 is still doin it with style and definatly one of my hero's ....... and hell im 68

 

I'll be lucky to make it that old, nice looking Merc.

 

God Bless him at his age for still having the passion to chase his dreams.

How cool! Our Gasser Racing Series here in western New York has many "senior citizens". Last year our points winner was 74 yr. old Skip Kazmark driving his 39' Chevy coupe which he's had since he was 14 yrs old. In fact we've never had a points winner younger than 65!

 

Crap. Elmer's flathead dragster "gets it on"!

A Local fellow here in Oregon in his mid to late 60's is running 195 on a 2 wheeler!
