So here is the deal, I have a '65 F100 w/ original 352 and Granny low 4 speed. The clutch is starting to act up. When I step on the clutch pedal the clutch stays engaged for a bit then snaps disengaged. It is an intermittent problem. it does it about half of the time I shift. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how did you corrrect it?

Your throwout bearing may be going.
Check your adjustment and for any loose or binding parts in your mech. from the pedal to the clutch.

How much free travel have you got on the clutch pedal before it starts to put pressure on the clutch? It may just need adjusting.

Other things might be wear on the bearing retainer that is letting the release bearing catch and hang up, Pressure plate going gunny bags and not releasing like it should and maybe a warped disk.

I have also seen the front bearing retainer wear a groove in it. Then the throw out bearing hangs up on the groove

I have a couple of inches of free play in the pedal. I am guessing that the throwout bearing is hanging up on something.

You dont have anything to lose, see if you can adjust to about 1/2'', but I'd say shes wore out.
